About City of Mandurah

Modernising a fragmented digital ecosystem into a governance-driven council platform

The City of Mandurah delivers community, civic, and public services across the Mandurah region, supporting residents, businesses, visitors, and community initiatives through a growing digital ecosystem.

The organisation engaged Dapth to modernise a local council website that had become difficult to maintain, scale, and govern. The brief called for a full digital experience platform built on Xperience by Kentico, with structured content, external system integrations, and a workflow model mapped to how the organisation actually operates.

Project Evolution

Building a scalable digital foundation for council governance, content, and citizen services

A fragmented council digital environment struggling to scale

The City of Mandurah's previous digital environment had become difficult to manage, scale, and govern. Fragmented workflows sat behind a public-facing presence that increasingly relied on manual content processes. Property information, event content, and municipal data took significant operational effort just to keep current.

The infrastructure could not carry the scale of a modern council operation. Every new content type or channel meant more manual reconciliation for the editorial team, and the content management layer couldn't structure the diverse municipal information the organisation needed to surface to citizens.

  • fragmented content and data workflows across the organisation
  • inefficient manual update processes for events, places, and documents
  • disconnected external data sources with no live integration
  • inconsistent information management across the ecosystem
  • scalability limitations that made new content types risky to add
  • growing governance complexity as the digital footprint expanded
  • limited flexibility for microsites, campaign channels, or new services

The organisation needed more than a visual refresh. It required a digital experience platform that could carry structured governance, live integrations, and connected citizen experiences on one foundation.
