Sonam Capital Website Development and Branding

“Their previous CMS - Squarespace - was giving them issues, as they couldn’t sort email addresses or have any control over technical aspects, as both the domain and emails were connected to the CMS account.”

Empowering growth
The services Sonam Capital provide are broad - from commercial development finance to home loans, and they wished to convey their broad financial expertise
Project aims
As a boutique financial consultancy, they required a new website that aligned with their bespoke professional business offering. With a strong focus on long term relationships and working closely with a broad range of finance providers to prepare, negotiate and arrange competitive finance solutions for clients, Sonam Capital wanted their website to have a strong focus on both design and user experience; including site functionality, usability, and accessibility.
Umbraco 9 was the foundation
Dapth used Umbraco as the Content Management System (CMS) for this digital solution, with a widget/modular style build, enabling Sonam Capital to manage the site independently on an ongoing basis. The user experience development was based on a theme-based design. Dapth formulated low fidelity wireframes, for first stage approval, prior to roll out of high-fidelity wireframes before final development.

How did Dapth transform Sonam Capital's website?
Dapth kicked this project off with a discovery session, followed by a website requirements workshop, working through the current website’s pain points, and mapping out information architecture (IA). During the website requirements workshop, we discussed Sonam Capital’s website pain points, information architecture (IA), services and product offerings.
We also reviewed other examples, ideals and competitors, as well as identifying user personas. We then documented user personas and website requirements, and presented our findings back to Sonam Capital, based on findings and high level requirements.
Sonam Capital was looking for higher traffic conversion and to improve the image and professionalism of their company.
The branding and colour palette were chosen to reflect some of Sonam Capital's core values, such as integrity, transparency, and strong business relationships. Shying away from a very rigid, corporate look, Sonam Capital chose the more subdued colour palette to look competent, modern, and clean. The neutral, light-hearted colour scheme was atypical of the industry, to distinguish against industry’s overused blues. The choice of image assets was meant to be reflective of Sonam’s dedication and professionalism and to highlight the bespoke services that Sonam Capital provides.
Some key features that the finished website included a blog, testimonials, and multiuse hero cards, that can be reused, displaying key services, blog posts and more. One of its key features is a robust blog feature that is intuitive and makes it easy for users to find blog topics categorised by tags or subject. Blog post previews are also displayed as clickable ‘cards’. The menu navigation also provides a preview of what each section is about, making it easier for users to find the information they need quickly.
Other multiuse hero cards are displayed throughout the website to highlight Sonam Capital's key services, particularly those found at the bottom of the homepage, outlining services that many users would be interested in, saving them time from searching throughout the site for these.
